The house was built in two stages. At the conclusion of the first, in 1949, its
horizontality professed a remarkable resemblance to the Kaufmann house desig-
ned by Richard Neutra in Palm Springs in 1947, or at least this was my personal
perception following a visit to California a few years ago.
